Brown Recluse spider bite!

I was first introduced to essential oils when I was in my mid-twenties. One afternoon I was working in my garden and felt a sting on my leg. I thought something stung me, but as I brushed my hand across my leg, and realized I was brushing off an odd-looking spider. Yes, I screamed, naturally!  It itched but I didn’t think much of it then. But, by morning my whole leg hurt and the bite was looking quite nasty.

After a couple of days my leg getting more and more gross, yes flesh eating away, the whole area had turned black, and my leg was starting to go completely numb; I went to the internet and started to look up symptoms of spider bites and found that I had been bitten by a brown recluse spider.  Yikes, I thought and called poison control and a doctor. Both informed me that there was nothing they could do, but would probably have to amputate the leg. Go to the hospital they said, and I started to cry.

It was then the phone rang of a friend that I had yet to meet but had chatted on the phone several times.  When I said hello, she immediately started in with, “What’s wrong?” I have been worried about you for days! I proceeded to tell her about the spider bite, she then asked for my address informing me that she was on her way over!

When she arrived she started putting in many drops of essential oils into the wound that by that time had eaten a good inch or so into my leg.  She then placed a cotton pad over it and then told me what she had just done and why.

This was my introduction to using essential oils!  I got up the next morning and went to put more oils into the wound, I was astounded at what had transpired just through the night.  The wound was incredibly better! There was flesh regrowing and the blackness had a yellowish tint to it.  By that evening I had feeling returning to the leg itself. As you can imagine I was impressed. Hook – Line – and Sinker!

So, for those of you who need to know what kind of oils she used; Frankincense, Lavender, Melrose, Melalucea, and one more that I can’t remember. Sorry.

Needless to say, my wound healed and my leg returned to normal. I am and will always be grateful for my dear friend Karen, her intuitive promptings, and her essential oils.
